The first few days of digital photography Mr. Bush already let us walk around the school and take pictures. My first impression was shocked because of how much freedom we got. In middle school we were not allowed to leave the teachers sight, so this really limited the types of pictures we could take. We also spent most the time in middle school sitting and learning how to take pictures. In this class we learned lots about how to take pictures, but we also got to walk around and actually take them, which I really enjoyed. In this class I didn't expect to learn so much about the computer technology. I thought we would only learn about photo taking skills. I knew nothing about photoshop or how to work it in the beginning of this class, but now I understand how to use many of the tools. I learned how to organize and download photos from the camera on to the computer. These things can be helpful outside of the class, in everyday life. I know much more about computers than I thought I would learn in this class. This is one of my first photos from the first assignment. You can tell it's not a good photo even if you aren't a photographer. The lighting is too bright and it is whitewashing the flower and the background. I wasn't using the correct aperture or shutter speed. The photo isn't in focus either and it doesn't have a good subject. These are three pictures I took more towards the end of the class. They are better quality overall. The lighting is better because I knew how to properly adjust my settings when I took these. They are also more focused. I knew how to edit these in photoshop too which helped.
