In this photo assignment, my subject was nature. I went out to a corn field across from my neighborhood to try and get pictures. One thing I struggled with was not making the sky white. If i adjusted the settings it made the sky blue, but everything else got dark. The best part about shooting with nature is all the texture that you can get in the photos.

For this photo shooting assignment my subject was animals. I found a farm close to my house and went out before it started raining to take pictures of some of the farm animals. I didn't finish in time so I had to go back home and take pictures of my dog. I learned how to be very patient. The animals would not stay still for more than three seconds so I had to be quick when taking the pictures. The lighting worked really well for the farm animals because it was outside. In this project we were given the original photo of a car and a photo of the car after photoshop. We had to try and get the original photo to look like the one after photoshop. First, we duplicated the photo and cropped it. Then we used the clone stamp tool to cover up some of the reflections on the hood of the car. After that we selected the background so we could make it black. We also tinted the windshield darker. I learned how to work with many tools I did not know how to use before. I learned the most about the clone and selection tools. Before this assignment, I didn't realize how easy it was to cover things up and alter the color.
The subject I shot was things around my house. During this process I had to look a little harder for things that would make good subjects for my photos. I learned to pay more attention to the small things. I didn't realize I had some of the stuff in my house because I never looked hard enough for it. In this assignment I used the composition simplicity a lot to create a clean, simple, look. I also learned how to shoot pictures without natural light. I always take pictures of nature so I was used to the good lighting, but indoors, I didn't always have that option so I really had to adjust the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. For this project we had to pick a category and take pictures that followed the category. The subject that I shot was Macro. During this process I learned how to shoot clear photos close up. That was difficult for me for a long time because when ever I got too close it wouldn’t focus and if I zoomed the photo would turn out grainy. I finally found the right length to stay away from the subject when taking the pictures. I was outside for all of my pictures because it had the best lighting. In this assignment we had to edit one picture to make four of the same one and change the color of each picture. First, we had to format our original photo and change the width and height. Next, we changed the original to black and white. Then we used the two rulers to cut the document into four pieces. We then used the black and white photo to change the color. We copied and pasted the black and white one four times. Not only did we have to change the hue, we had to change the saturation and lightness also. We ended up with a red, green, yellow, and blue photo for each color.
I learned how to edit and change the hue, saturation, and lightness of each photo. I also learned how to crop the photo into a square. The hardest part for me was evenly spacing the background into four spots because I didn't see the line snapping into the middle. Assignment: For this assignment our class was given 11 composition subjects and we went around the school and took a picture of each example. He gave us a description of each one and we took notes on them to understand the concept better. The 11 compositions were balance, color, symmetry, rule of thirds, perspective, framing, space, depth of field, texture, lines, and pattern. What I learned: I knew all of the compositions from multimedia, except balance. I learned that the positioning with elements in a frame can leave an image feeling balanced or unbalanced. I also learned that the color in a photo can impact the mood. For technology, I learned how to upload photos and organize them. I run cross country and track. I love traveling and I just got back from Europe a couple weeks ago. I took this class because I like photography. I took multimedia in 7th and 8th grade.
